This term we are learning to write explanations. For our first piece of writing we had to explain either the best or worst part of our holiday.

Shopping at Queens Gate mall

The best part of the holidays was going to Queens Gate mall.

I was so happy to see my mum after she had been working for a week in Masterton.

My mum was kind enough to get me a new school bag and an ice cream.

I got to go to my favourite shops. My favourites are Smiggle and Nature Discoveries.

I can’t wait to go again.

Baby Birthday

The best part of my holiday was going to my now one-year old cousin Christian’s birthday party.

The best part of the party was seeing him crawl. He can crawl really fast. I loved seeing most of my family and helping Christian open his present.

I can’t wait to see him again.

On the road to Ohakune

The best bit of my holiday was when I went to Ohakune with Hamish and Hannah. Ohakune is in the middle of the north island.

The first thing that I liked was when we were going to Ohakune we were playing air instruments to the music in the car.

The second thing that I liked was meeting new people at the ski club.

The third thing that I liked was playing board games.

Like snakes and ladders and head bands.

That was the best thing in the holidays.

                                    Going to dinner

The best part of my holiday was going to a friends for dinner. The friends names were Philapa and Franx. When we got there we went and swam in Franx pool the pool was warm. It also was really big. We had Mexican food after we swam in the pool. One of Philapas  friends came and his name is Randy. Randy had a dog the dog was a French bulldog. Then Franx brought her dog over her dog was a pug. That’s why going to my friends house for dinner was the best part of my holiday.

Seeing my sister Anna

The best thing that happened to me was when my sister came to my house. I like seeing my sister because she lives in Stokes Valley, that’s in Upper Hutt. When she comes over we enjoy making couches out of blankets we find around the house. Sometimes they are comfortable and some times they are really uncomfortable.

I love seeing my sister because she’s my only sister.

      Hide and Go Seek

The best part of my holiday was when I played hide-and-go-seek with my two year old baby cousin.

When I was hiding I could hear him count random numbers and the last number was five.

When he was hiding I could hear him giggling in his hiding spot.

So at the end of the day I lost but it was fine because he kept on squealing and running around when I told him he won.

Mia’s birthday party

The best thing about my holiday was going to Mia’s birthday party.

I liked Mia’s birthday because we stayed up all night partying until we went home. We gave each other makeovers like painting our nails and putting lipstick on and putting chalk in our hair and playing on  the trampoline. We played games like the flower game the chocolate game. I played families with Mia’s little sister Lily. My favourite game was the chocolate game. You had to roll a dice and if you the number 6 you had to put on a

glove, hat, scarf and cut a piece of chococlate with a knife and fork.

Mia’s birthday was the best thing about my holiday.

Hut Disaster

In the holidays I went to a holiday programme at Holy Cross School.

On the first day we built huts we had to do it in groups. My group had Louie, Luke, Chilli and me.

Our hut was named the Mini Man Cave. It was made out of cardboard and paper. When it was finished we had to vote for who had the best hut. Everyone vote for our hut except for two people.

On the last day of the holiday programme we had to demolish our huts EVERYONE was breaking mine but the sad thing was that only one person got to jump on rubbish in the skip bin. That was the sad thing of my holidays.

Seeing My Cool Cousin

The best thing I did in the holiday was to be able to see my cool cousin Aliyah.

The first reason is because we haven’t seen each other in a couple of years.

Secondly, my mum was friends with her mum (my aunty) and she was always around with Aliyah, then me and Aliyah became the best of friends.

Lastly, we got to hangout together like old times but this time it was even better because my best friend got to join in on all the fun of discovering new things.

That is why seeing my cool cousin was the best thing I did in the holidays.

Shopping at Kmart

The best bit of my holiday was doing

shopping at Kmart .

It was a long way away from home.

It was so boring at home because there was nothing to do.

Tangi

When the first holiday happened we went to Tekau for a Tangi . It was my great nana that died. Seventy-five people came to my Nana’s Tangi.

We stayed there for a week. It took us 11hours to get there. We left at one-o-clock we stopped at Hamilton for a rest at my auntie’s house we stayed there for the night. My aunty came with my cousins and us. When we got there and went inside my mum sat next to my Nana Mahera . She was crying because my Nana was dead. When it was night time I met my cousin that I never knew, we played heaps of games.

THE ANT HOUSE!

The worst thing in the holiday was there were lots of ants in the cupboard.

My dad and me had to clean the cupboards.

The first thing I didn’t like was washing the dishes and the alcohol.

The second thing that I didn’t like was standing and working all day.

The last thing I did not like was taking everything out of the cupboard.

That was the worst thing that happened in the holiday.

The Confusing Day

The best thing in the holiday was going to laser strike. At first I thought we where going to laser force but we where going to laser strike.

It was great to catch up with dads friends Kyle and his wife Isabella. At first I came 2^nd and Isabella came 3^rd and then 2^nd round I came 3^rd and she came 2^nd so we basically swapped places.

At the end we played a few little machine car games. First me and Isabella and then Dad and Kyle. Dad and I were men so Isabella were girls.

That was my whole holiday story.

    The Road Trip

The best part of the holidays was the road trip to Kaitaia because…

1.I got to see lots of places like Taupo and Bay of islands.

2.We got to stop at my family and friend’s houses to say hello and have a cuppa.

3. We watched heaps of movies and listened to music in the car.

That was a pretty fun, even though I sat in the back!

THE SUNDAY DISASTER

The WORST Thing that happened in the holidays was when I couldn’t go to my friend Christians house

I didn’t want to go to the mall with my family. When I got home I was going to ring him because my mum said I could ring but he didn’t answer.

That day I thought that it was a bit weird  how she said no instead of yes or sure.

The Tawa Trip

In the holiday I went on a train trip to Tawa. When we got on the train we got a train ticket.

When we went along the train tracks my aunty told me there were two tunnels. In the tunnel I heard one train coming.

When I got there I played video games with my friend. Sometimes I won and sometimes I lost.

We went back home on the train.
